What are Animal Rights? and Why are they important?

Image
Have you ever thought why rights are extremely important to us? They give us freedom on how we want to live. However, what about animals? Animal rights are important and should be treated like human rights and here is why.  Animal rights advocates believe animals deserve to live as they choose without human interference. Animals have feelings, emotions, and a different way of living. They live in different ways, but almost like humans. Hunting for food, having a safe place, and living in a proper home to breed as they desire.  Human activity is what causes animals to lose their habitat, have trouble breeding and nurturing babies. Human caused air pollution, water pollution, deforestation, agriculture, global warming, hunting and poaching affect animals.  Humans use animals for money, food, farmland, clothes, and factory use.  The leather back turtle is endangered because of water pollution, polar bears are endangered because of global warming, rhinos and elephants ar...

The Power of Family

Image
My family has been so supportive about myself having epilepsy.  They love my inside and out.  I love them farther than the moon and back.  My family has found there is more than just having epilepsy. We believe its more of a gift, rather than a disease.   They have made sure I was treated once I found out I had epilepsy,  instead of leaving me in the dark. Some people took the risk of me having brain surgery and even though it failed,  the thoughts are what counted.  I had to go through a recovery process after leaving the hospital and my family made sure to be by my side.   My mom has been my hero and gets a gold star of everything she has done for me. Making sure I'm happy, successful and proud. I could never do any of these risks if it wasn't for her. She's seen the best in me ever since I was born.  Thank you mom. I love you ❤️!   The power of family has helped me through the brightest and darkest times in my life. I l...

Being In Epilepsy's Shoes

Image
There are struggles in life that are difficult to face and sometimes it is important to think how others feel. They might have something wrong with them and stepping in their shoes is a great way to understand more. In my case, having epilepsy is a rough condition to manage and I believe people don't understand how much a seizure disorder impacts my life. I had an extremely scary seizure last week after class because my professor was not  accepting my accommodations.  I forgot we had to bring a project in because after the seizure and during the  recovery process makes me forget things and think unclearly. This always makes me feel like I'm starting a new chapter in my life. Then the other day, my professor didn't accept when I told her I have memory problems from the seizure as an excuse on why I didn't bring my project in.  What if she had a seizure and had a long recovery process?  How do you think she would feel before, during, and after a seizure? What if s...
